Personal Property

Previous topic Next topic JavaScript is required for the print function

Personal property is:

Every kind of property that is not real property

Objects that are movable without damage to itself or to the real estate

Personal property is further subdivided into tangible and intangible property

Examples of personal property:

Car

Airplane

Ticket

Stock

Copyright

Technically, personalty refers to the object and personal property refers to the rights to the object.  The term "personalty" has apparently become obsolete and the term "personal property" refers to the thing itself as well as the rights to the object.
