The Assessed Value (or assessment) is the official valuation of real property for use in determining property tax.

The assessed value is usually a percentage of market value.  In Georgia, the assessed value is usually 40% of the market value as determined by county appraisers.

The assessment ratio is the ratio of the assessed value to the market value.
